“You must take it upon yourself to rally your people, make them feel confident that they will win. Perhaps you should seek out allies to assist you in your fight.” she sighed and looked to her knights enjoying themselves and then turned back to Aerith “You must be taught like a knight then. Should your President be scarce, it is the opportune moment to strike hard and fast. Without mercy. And if you truly don’t believe you can win, you will lose before the battle begins. I would be more than happy to form an alliance with your people, what is the lower town you dwell in called again?”
Wait - what? Since when did this become a talk about taking action? It certainly couldn’t be her - she was a protector of the Planet, not of people. She shook her head. “I mean no disrespect, but no. I protect the Planet. I don’t get involved in things like that. The only reason I did before was because the Planet was in danger and I was the only one with the material to save it. Besides, I just got ShinRa off of my tail, I’d really rather not alert them of me again.” She took more than a sip of her wine this time - a longer drink, trying not to grimace at the tartness. “And even if Rufus doesn’t care about others’ happiness, at least he keeps everything under control. Like I said, at peace.”
“You speak ill of him before, now you defend him?” she shook her head and took a drink, confused “I suppose things are different where you are from, this Gaia, of which you speak. If you are truly content under his rule, then that is your choice. Should you require an alliance in the future, I will arrange it. Tell me though, how do you protect the planet? Are you a moderator of crops?”
“Not defending him, just his methods..” She herself grimaced a little, trying to make sense of it herself. Surely it could have been worded better, but the subject had already been dropped, changed into another - still about her. She was a modest type, but understood the queen’s curiosity. She’d just have to try and revert some questions back to her. “You could say that… since it’s one of the jobs that come with it. I help keep it from anyone who may try to harm it.” She took a small sip of her wine, unsure of how else to describe her duties.
